Weather certainly did not dampen the spirits of the Mentmore ladies as 115 lady golfers took to the fairways in the Lady Captain's day on Tuesday the 8th June.
The competition was played over 27 holes with a 18 hole Stableford competition in the morning followed by a fun 9 hole Texas scramble format in the afternoon.
The lady golfers got more than they bargained for on the day and enjoyed homemade cakes and Pimms at the halfway house and even had the presence of celebrity duo ‘Ant & Dec’ on the day.
Congratulations to Mary Williamson, who was the overall winner with 38 points. Adrienne Lane won Division 1 with 37 points and Joan Naish won Division 3 with 35 points. Maureen Westley, Sheila Sinfield and Sara Keyser were division runners-up. With Sue Kettler, Petra Suter and Bev Martin taking third places. Sue Lee won the longest drive and Janice Janes won nearest the pin. Val Irvine won the best front 9 score with 21 points and Angela Beel had the best back 9 with 19 points.
After lunch the majority of ladies bravely donned their wet weather gear again and went out for a 9 hole Texas scramble.
